What is Trust ID?¶

Trust ID is an automated identity document verification service designed to detect inconsistencies, potential fraud, and compliance issues from images or PDF files.

The product analyzes both the visual content and the structured data of the document (MRZ, formats, metadata, technical characteristics) in order to provide a reliable and actionable assessment for KYC, compliance, customer onboarding, or document control processes.

Character recognition¶

Trust ID automatically extracts key information present on the document, including:

• MRZ zones (Machine Readable Zone),
• document numbers,
• names, dates, nationality, etc.

The system is designed to work with documents from various sources (photo, scan, screenshot) and provides manual correction mechanisms when the OCR detects ambiguous characters.

Security key verification¶

Trust ID analyzes the visible and logical security elements of the document, such as:

• consistency of MRZ characters and their check digits,
• validity of dates and numbers,
• consistency between the different areas of the document.

These checks make it possible to detect:

• data entry errors,
• basic falsifications,
• inconsistent or altered documents.

Verification of country-specific formats and security keys (Plus verification level)¶

With the Plus verification level, Trust ID applies advanced rules specific to the issuing country of the document, including:

• national identity number formats,
• check digit calculation rules,
• structures specific to identity cards and passports.

This verification strengthens the detection of more subtle fraud and enables analysis that complies with national standards.

File verification based on the declared origin (Pro verification level)¶

With the Pro verification level, Trust ID analyzes the file itself, taking into account the origin declared by the user:

• photo taken with a camera,
• scan,
• screenshot,
• document sent via messaging applications.

The analysis includes:

• metadata (EXIF, software, device),
• file structure,
• consistency between the declared origin and the technical characteristics.

This approach makes it possible to detect:

• edited or retouched documents,
• disguised screenshots,
• inconsistencies between the declared context and the actual file.
